The extension building pictured above, which was built in the House's garden, was completed in 2014.
The Friends of Whitworth House raised £128,000 towards funding the extension, thanks to an incredible Appeal campaign led by Chairwoman Sarah Martin (pictured far left), which was officially launched in November 2010.

The extension houses two 'moving-on' flats, which are separate from the shared hostel accommodation offered within the House.
Each flat has a spacious kitchen/living/dining area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. They also each have their own front door, which allows the residents some privacy and independence.

The extension building was designed to be inkeeping with the style of the original house.
